Listen to Author Michael Harris on End of Absence and Solitude

What have we lost in exchange for constant online connection?

Michael Harris is now one of my favorite authors.  His two memoirs The End of Absence and Solitude were among my favorite books of the last few years.

I love the way he describes the feelings of melancholia and loss associated with our new technological landscape.  Our generation will be the last to remember a time before instant access, AI and continuous internet connectivity.  Michael's books speak to this, and also to the hope for finding a way forward that enriches human interaction instead of replacing it with a virtual simululation.
